food 9/10: The crust of the hotdogs were so crispy!! I definitely recommend getting the sweet potato crust because it's so unique and adds a hint of sweetness to the hot dog!! Also I recommend eating it right when served so the cheese pull is super satisfying. As for sauces, I paired the mozzarella hotdog with sweet chili and some honey butter powder and it was so yummy!! service : 10/10 The cashier was so nice and the food came out after around 8 minutes!! ambience: 10/10 The store has a little bit of seating both outside and inside. It felt so cozy and clean so I definitely recommend going here for hangouts w friends

Tried the sweet potato half and half corn dog! Added sugar, ketchup, honey mustard, and it was soooo yum. I lowkey didn't realize how large it was until trying to devour it and getting made fun of by my friends for being a 'slow eater'. This spot really curbs the craving for authentic Korean corn dogs. However, my friend had a traumatic experience (he got the hot cheetos corn dog with sugar), so learn from his mistakes. Would knock off half a star for uncomfy chairs :(

The lunch scene around campus lately has become a bit of a shit show, combining all of Berkeley's popular restaurant qualities: crappy service, questionable food, and prices that'll knock the wind out of you. Thank God for Seoul Hotdog. I realize that corn dogs aren't for everyone, but if you're one the chosen few, this place is not to be missed since it remedies the usual craptacularity on display around town: decent service, solid food, and very reasonable prices. Service: Every time I go, it's always the same lady behind the counter, and the same guy doing the food prep. They're friendly enough; no one's going to hump your leg here, but you will get a greeting and a goodbye salutation. It's a lot like not being in Berkeley. That's got to be worth something, right? Food & Price: This is not Chez Panisse, but if you're capable of enjoying a decent corn dog, you can walk out of this place with a solid lunch for less than $12 (not counting tip; you all know to tip, right?). While they do offer a variety of dogs/dogs+cheese as well as a spread of customizations to the battered portion, these all cost extra and sort of ruin the basic reasonable quality of the corn dog. It's Berkeley, so there's always a cloud or two in the picture: Crap location: It's close to campus, sure, but it's at the end of a food court, and should you go at the wrong time, not only will it be crowded, but a lot of the people who choose to eat here are frankly repulsive eaters. If you're going here, go early. Crap décor: The back end of the restaurant is slathered in motivational slogans in English and Korean. I've never been a big fan of patronizing, unsolicited advice, and having it stare me down while I'm waiting for my food kinda pisses me off. Then again, who knows? Maybe I'm the exception, and the mean customer finds this sort of freely-offered parental overreach awesome and welcome. Crap music: The television is a bottomless slop bucket of K-pop. While music certainly has taken a turn for the worse in recent times, K-pop crosses boundaries that are there for a reason. You know, when you see a video of a band performing their songs and each every member of said band is a 10, it's not a real band and what they're "playing" is manufactured on the assembly line, vetted with focuses groups, and viciously marketed. I can feel my hackles rising, so I'll stop there. In the final wash 4 stars: decent food for a decent price and capable and qualified service, but slogans, crappy location, and K-pop. The Berkeley Factor also figures.

Super cheesy and yummy! This is my favorite place for corn dogs because of how massive the corndog is and how great the toppings are. The staff is amazing, this truly is a hidden gem on northside!

you're not a Berkeley student but still want some Korean corn dogs? Honestly it's worth dealing with the congested street / limited parking. This is a great fried indulgence that won't make you feel sluggish after (it's not greasy either!). They have veggie options for those who don't want meat and lots of toppings you can add! Def one of those spots you think about and planning on coming back to

My first Korean Corn Dog..no words, just epic cheese pulls and full-belly smiles! Tucked away near Cal Berkeley, you'll find Seoul Hotdog - a family-owned spot specializing in this delicious Korean street food snack. We learned the batter is made with rice flour, wheat flour and panko crumbs, making this a bit different than your typical cornmeal treat. You can add additional toppings to the batter which is super fun - we did one with regular potatoes, which was the perfect blend of a hot dog & fries in one bite. We ordered one with a sweet potato crust - the perfect union of sweet and savory. And last but certainly not least, we ordered the Mozza & Sausage which I'm still thinking about currently! Think juicy meat hugged by warm, goey cheese..is there anything better? They give you an option if you would like your dog rolled with sugar, and next time I would love to try the sweet potato that way! There's also several dipping sauces to pair with like honey mustard, ketchup, sweet chili sauce, sriracha mayo and more. The sauces look like little milk utters/upside down bottles, which I thought was a clever touch! Pairing the honey mustard with the regular potato and the sweet chili on literally everything was how we rolled. All in all, I can't wait to come back and try more flavors like the all Mozza version! FYI there are also veggie options too. Such a fun spot to tuck away with friends or solo - kind service, great value and an overall, awesome product. Well done! So

I finally got to try Seoul Hotdog and it was 100% worth the wait. (I've attempted to eat here multiple times in the past, but it's tough when they close so early!) I ordered #4 Cheddar and Sausage and added the potato crust ($2.00 extra). I've really never had anything like this before, so if you're questioning whether an extravagant "hotdog" is worth it, definitely at least give this place a try. Aside from the hotdog, you get to choose an assortment of toppings ranging from Ghirardelli white chocolate to sriracha mayo. It's a fun experience for adults and kids alike.

I decided to give them a try while looking for dinner in the food court on Hearst. I ordered a veggie mozza and then wandered off for a while, then was gently chastised by a worker when I returned because my order had been done for a while and they'd been calling out my name multiple times - sorry again! This was my first time I had a Korean style hot dog, so it is certainly quite sweet (as you can guess from the sugar coating on the outside) but also had thick dense cheese in the middle, but I like the crunchy crisp outside. If you like cheese sticks but with some more crunch, this would be a good option. The veggie, rice cake, triple cheese, and veggie mozza were their vegetarian options at the time I visited. The court has some tables you can eat at, but it's also close to the north side of UC Berkeley campus if you want to find other spots to eat outdoors.

Korean corn dogs are so good, so filling, craveable ! I'd compare this with an analogy; When the Japanese took over the American car market by making uber reliable cars, the Korean's have done this with the Illinois invention of the corn dog. A hotdog on a completely different level! If you love corn dogs as much as I, this is a must try!
